PROPOSED FOR 2011
An outline of activities we hope to do for our 30th Anniversary year
The proposed title for our Anniversary activities is Peace Works! Women to Women for Peace 1981-2011 We hope all area groups will make a special effort to do something wonderful for our anniversary.
The provisional timetable for the Travelling Exhibition is:-
April Thornbury & Bristol
May South Wales & Forest of Dean
June Merseyside
September Yorkshire
October Brighton & South Coast
July & August Our visitors from abroad.
Polly from Brighton says;"Few people know of the work undertaken by Women to Women for Peace and the ethos behind it.
Many people, appalled by the injustices and conflicts throughout the world, feel helpless. The work of our group, backed up by thirty years of making constructive contacts is inspirational and impressive. It helps that we work together. This should be celebrated!"
Our hope for our 30th Anniversary is to involve as many people as possible, Members or not and we would like to include ordinary women as individuals and peace groups and include as broad a spectrum of ethnicity as possible.
Please tell friends and acquaintances that we would like them to take part and find out if they have any skills to bring to the events. We will be careful to find representation of as many backgrounds as possible
The general format is envisaged as exhibitions and workshops relating to fine art. Craft, poetry, music, dance and drama or a get-together over lunch, possibly with a speaker. We would like to involve schools too as we work for a safer future for the young!
